Cook the potatoes until soft. Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix the meat, the egg, and the onion soup mix until you get a firm dough. Set aside.

Remove the potatoes from the heat, peel them, and pass them through a potato ricer while still hot. Set aside.

Roll out the ground meat dough on plastic wrap into a rectangle. Lay the slices of ham on top. Spread the mashed potatoes and the olives.

Roll it up like a jelly roll and place it in a large greased baking dish. Dot the top with pieces of butter and bake in a preheated medium oven for 40 minutes or until the roll is golden.
